🤩 YouTube's Latest AI Tools!

YouTube is diving deeper into AI to make content creation easier for creators!

During its "Made on YouTube" event, the platform unveiled a series of AI-powered tools aimed at taking the heavy weights off creators’ shoulders.

And let’s be real—who wouldn’t want a little extra help when it comes to generating ideas and producing content?😀

First up, meet the new Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio.

Think of it as your AI-powered creative assistant — This tool doesn’t just brainstorm for you—it’ll suggest video concepts, craft catchy titles, create eye-popping thumbnails, and even hand you the first few lines of your script!

And because it’s powered by YouTube’s AI, you can bet those ideas will be perfectly primed to play nice with the algorithm.

Once the inspiration strikes, you can take it up a notch with Veo (a powerful video model from Google’s DeepMind), which is now being integrated into YouTube Shorts specifically through the new Dream Screen feature.

With Dream Screen, you’ll have access to stunning AI-generated backgrounds that’ll make your Shorts pop—think of it like a green screen but way more magical and limitless.

You can also create entire six-second Veo videos, though any longer, and things might get a little... glitchy (AI still has some kinks to iron out when it comes to longer clips).

But that’s not all!

YouTube is expanding its auto-dubbing tool, making it easier for creators to translate their videos into multiple languages.

And they’re also adding AI-powered features in the Communities section to give creators more ways to interact with their fans!

It’s all Pretty amazing, right? Well, they'll all be coming to you later this year or early next year at most.

But here’s the flip side:

With all this AI assistance, creators will churn out content faster, but will it still have that unique, personal touch, or could we see a flood of AI-generated videos that start to feel... the same?

At the end of the day, it’s up to each creator to decide whether to use these tools to fuel their creativity or simply save time.

But YouTube’s goal is clear, though: They want to lower the barrier to becoming a creator, especially as it competes with platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Whether this leads to a wave of fresh, innovative content—or just more of the same—remains to be seen.

But one thing’s certain: AI is now a staple in the YouTube creator’s toolkit.

⚖️ California’s New AI Laws!

California, home to most of the world’s leading AI companies, just passed some of the toughest AI laws in the U.S.!

This week, Governor Gavin Newsom signed five(5) new laws to crack down on AI deepfakes in elections and tighten Hollywood’s use of AI-generated actors.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

One law requires big online platforms, like Facebook and X, to either remove or label AI deepfakes related to elections and create channels to report such content.

Candidates and elected officials can even seek injunctive relief if a platform doesn't comply.

Another requires the disclosure of AI-generated political advertisements.

This means that in the future, political figures like Trump may not be able to get away with sharing AI deepfakes of celebrities( Taylor Swift) endorsing them on social media.

While the last two create new standards for California’s media industry.

One requires studios to get permission from an actor before creating an AI-generated replica of their voice or likeness.

Meanwhile, the other prohibits studios from creating digital replicas of deceased performers without consent from their estates.

Governor Newsom still has 38 more AI-related bills to review, including a controversial one (SB 1047) that could impact the open-source AI space.
